Jackie Suiter
Interim Executive Director
Jackie joined CSC South Bay in Feb 2020 as Director of Development. She brings an extensive 20-year background in sales and marketing with a large Fortune 500 company to the role. In addition, she previously served as a volunteer and chairperson for the Sandpipers Organization, providing support to many local South Bay charities. Jackie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from The University of Arizona. She is a current member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy Lomibao, MS, LMFT
Program Director/Chief Clinical Officer
Nancy has been at CSC South Bay since May 2014. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and earned her M.S. Degree in Marriage Family & Child Counseling in 1996 from California State University Dominguez Hills. She enjoys working with adults, teens, children and couples.
Theresa Plakos
Public Relations Director
Theresa joined CSC South Bay in 2010 after a good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her passion for her work was further fueled by the loss of her father and stepfather to lung cancer. She started as the Public Relations-Outreach Manager and assumed the position of Public Relations Director in 2015. Theresa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University Long Beach. She enjoys working with the local media as well as the medical and non-medical communities throughout the South Bay and surrounding areas to spread the word about Cancer Support Community’s many free programs, services and fundraising events.
Carla Bick
Cancer Support Navigator
Carla joined CSC South Bay in April 2021 as a Cancer Support Navigator. Originally from the East Coast, she moved with her family to Redondo Beach in 2018. Carla holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University. She has 20+ years of work experience in both the not-for-profit and corporate industries. Most recently she worked on Tour de Pier as an event coordinator which combined her love for spinning and helping to raise money and awareness for cancer.
Rebecca Sul
Program Manager
Rebecca joined CSC South Bay in 2021 and manages all programmatic scheduling, online registration, and participant support. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and previously supported over 450 students experiencing homelessness in Orange County with free academic support and school supplies. She also volunteers as a Sexual Assault Advocate through Waymakers and Virtual Lodging /Reunification Team Lead for the Red Cross in Orange County.
Norma Gonzalez
Outreach & Kids Community Manager
Norma joined CSC South Bay in 2022 and has a lot of fun managing the Kids Community events and outreach efforts. She previously worked in a mental health service agency doing outreach and managing data entry for their home visitation program. She enjoys knitting, true crime podcasts, and taking her niece out to parks on the weekend. Norma earned her B.A. degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Law and Society from UC Davis in 2018.
Goli Eslami
Event & Volunteer Manager
Goli joined the team in 2023. She is passionate about supporting CSC South Bay’s mission as she lost her own mother to a short battle with lung cancer two years ago. For the past 5 years, Goli has served on the Board of Directors for Vistas for Children, a nonprofit supporting kids in need in the South Bay area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and is a certified health coach.
Mariana Garcia
Office Manager
Mariana spent her childhood in Mexico City and teenage years in Mobile, Alabama. The clash of cultures taught her how to build relationships with people of all walks of life. After 5 years in the entertainment industry, Mariana wanted to work for a non-profit whose mission aligned with her values, and CSC South Bay was everything she wished for. She joined the team in 2023 as the Office Manager. In her free time, Mariana loves using her pottery wheel at home and improving her painting and drawing skills every chance she gets.
Starr Pappagalo
Communications Manager
Starr received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona and has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years. She has experienced a wide array of work environments from small design studios, to ad agencies, museums, and her favorite- nonprofit organizations. She came on board at CSC South Bay in 2021. Starr is passionate about using art and communication to build community and bring transformation, hope, and beauty to our world.
