Our mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community because we believe
that COMMUNITY IS STRONGER THAN CANCER.
Since 1987, we’ve been providing FREE support services for those affected by cancer and their loved ones. We’re starting 2022 with renewed excitement and commitment to our mission. With this new year, we have exciting new changes to announce…
NEW NAME
Formerly Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, we are now Cancer Support Community South Bay. We’ve been based in Redondo Beach for 35 years, but our reach and impact has always extended far beyond. Our network expands all throughout the South Bay and even into Long Beach and Orange County. Our new name will now better reflect the area we serve. The South Bay is a unique and unified community that we are proud to be a part of and call our home.
NEW LOOK
Did you know we are part of a network of 170 other Cancer Support Community locations worldwide? Our national headquarters is revamping things, starting with this new logo. The rays of hope still appear, just bolder and brighter to reflect the strength of hope that community provides.
NEW LOCATION
Nothing beats the view at the Redondo Beach Pier, where we’ve been located since the start. But as we continue to grow, we need a space that can not only support our current services, but sustain us into the future. We’re pleased to announce our new location in Rolling Hills Plaza coming February 2022:
Rolling Hills Plaza
2601 Airport Drive, Ste. 100 | Torrance, CA 90505
This centralized, 5600 sq. ft. location will allow us to better serve the community with easier access for visitors and the infrastructure to support new and innovative programming. We’ll never lose our ties to the pier, and will continue to return there for our favorite outdoor events like Yoga on the Pier, Tai Chi classes and family events.
WHAT’S NOT CHANGING
Our name and location may be new, but our programs, services, networks, and partners all remain the same. And of course our mission will never change: to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community, so that no one faces cancer alone.
LOOKING AHEAD
All of our services have been provided virtually since March 2020. We hope to return to in-person programming this year but will only do so when it’s safe for the people we serve. Even then, we will do so with the utmost care taken to protect the health and safety of all who enter our doors. We hope to see you in 2022!
