For the health and safety of our community, counseling is currently offered via Zoom.

Working with a mental health professional to cope with the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis can be an important step in managing your health and well-being. Counseling can help you understand your feelings and reactions, and it provides a safe place to talk about your thoughts and experiences.

Peer to Peer Program
Patients are matched with peer support volunteers based on diagnosis, cancer stage, age, gender or by preference of the person seeking support. Talking with someone who has lived with cancer can be comforting and reduce the sense of anxiety and isolation that a cancer diagnosis brings. Peer support volunteers are a devoted group of individuals who can provide support, comfort, and practical information, but not medical advice, to those with cancer. Hearing their experiences can be invaluable.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is often helpful during a patient’s cancer journey. We offer 6-10 individual counseling sessions, which are conducted by our mental health graduate interns under the supervision of our licensed clinical staff.

Before receiving counseling, we request that people asking for individual, family or couples counseling attend a Welcome Orientation Meeting and at least three weekly group meetings before beginning individual counseling. As with everything we offer, individual counseling sessions are free.
